Why Do Fans Hate Roman Reigns?
Roman Reigns is the most polarizing wrestler in history, half of the WWE Universe like him while half, or more, dislike him. But is Roman really to blame for the backlash of fans whenever he appears on television?
Back when The Shield had their first run in WWE, fans disliked them as they played the role of heels, but they slowly turned to be the Hounds of Justice which made The Shield the most popular faction in WWE. This rise in popularity brought fame and support for all three members of The Shield, including Roman Reigns, who was considered to be the strongest member. Fans supported him to win the Royal Rumble in 2014 when, predictably, Batista won it.
The very next year Roman was all set to win the Royal Rumble but almost all fans turned on him and booed him out of the building. From that moment, the backlash began and until today, more than half of WWE fans hate Roman Reigns.
The only reason that this happened is because WWE made Roman too predictable. People hated John Cena because he would always win and his matches were always predictable, but back during Cena's time, there were still many good wrestlers and that made Cena's matches not too predictable as Roman's matches are today. Roman Reigns rarely looses and his matches are always predictable. The main reasons that fans hate Roman is that WWE kept pushing him even though fans have been booing him, it was like rubbing salt on a fresh wound. That's why fans do not and may never really like Roman, not because he is a bad wrestler but because he is in a bad booking.
